PROJECTS
5G-DiGITS
5G-DiGITs is an Erasmus+ Alliance for Innovation project focused on cross-sectorial education and talent development for Beyond 5G Digital and Green Industrial Technologies. The project addresses one of the major challenges created by the rapid evolution of advanced 5G technologies: the need for professionals with the right combination of digital skills, green skills and entrepreneurial competencies.
The project brings together higher education institutions, vocational education and training providers, industry partners and innovation organisations to strengthen cooperation between education, research and the labour market. Through this collaboration, 5G-DiGITs aims to modernise learning pathways, promote knowledge exchange, and ensure that training programmes respond to the real needs of emerging 5G-enabled sectors such as IoT, smart cities, advanced manufacturing and sustainable digital services.
By developing new curricula, continuous education programmes, problem-based learning activities and entrepreneurship-oriented initiatives, 5G-DiGITs supports the creation of a skilled workforce capable of contributing to Europe’s digital and green transitions. The project also promotes innovation capacity, start-up creation and long-term collaboration between educational institutions and enterprises.
SATRD role in the 5G-DiGITS project
SATRD, as part of UPV, contributes to 5G-DiGITs with its expertise in advanced communication technologies, IoT, Beyond 5G systems, digital skills and technology-oriented education. Within the project, SATRD/UPV plays a relevant role in joint curriculum development and continuous education programmes, contributing to the design of innovative and multidisciplinary learning content for Beyond 5G Digital and Green Industrial Technologies.
In particular, SATRD/UPV contributes to training activities related to energy efficiency and sustainability in advanced 5G technologies, digital skills for Beyond 5G technologies, and green skills for Beyond 5G technologies. These activities connect SATRD’s technical expertise with the project’s educational mission, helping learners and professionals understand how 5G/Beyond 5G technologies can support more sustainable, connected and innovation-driven industrial environments.
In addition, UPV leads the preparation of the resilience-related market analysis report, which focuses on current and future skills demands and emerging professions in advanced 5G technologies. This contribution helps align the project’s educational outputs with real labour market needs, ensuring that the developed training materials and curricula are relevant for students, professionals, companies and innovation ecosystems.
